Assembly - Official Blog for ASSEMBLY competitions

ASSEMBLY is an open competition meant to introduce Youths to the concept of Systems Thinking through town planning. Town Planning is a delicate art of balancing interests, pushing for growth and lots more. Youths will be guided through processes of what makes a township liveable, what are the obstacles and challenges and finally, are given a chance to plan their own township. It is perhaps a slight formal version of popular online games like Cityville or Sim City.

Objectives

Objectives of The Young Mayor Competition 2017:

To raise awareness of the concepts of Sustainability Development in the face of rapid urbanisation in the ASEAN, South and East Asia.
To saturate knowledge, passion and appreciation for sustainable liveable space planning.
To promote international interaction with participants from the ASEAN, South and East Asia.
To inspire youth leaders to take responsibility as future leaders of their own country.
To cutivate System-Thinking through town planning curriculum.
To enhance the application of interdisciplinary skills.
